Kisan Diwas is celebrate every year to commemorate birth anniversary of the 5th Prime Minister of India, Shri Chaudhary Charan Singh.

Chaudhary Charan Singh was born on 23 December 1902 in a rural peasant Jat family of village Noorpur, District Hapur. Charan Singh died on 29 May 1987.

Farmers backbone of our agriculturally-backed country. There are various reasons behind the observance of Kisan Diwas. The most common reason has to be to celebrate the farming community of India, which almost 70% of the country. It is important to note that despite being the most prominent means of life for so many people, not many are aware of the problems that farmers face. People remain ignorant about the necessary information about this sect of the country. Kisan Diwas celebrations work on educating people about these issues, and also focused on empowering the farmers themselves with the latest learnings of the agricultural sector.

Kisan Diwas also serves as a perfect reminder for all of us to thank these farmers, who are the primary source of our soulful meals.

There is no doubt that the challenges being combated by farmers are exponential and require our utmost attention, now more than ever. It is in times like these that celebration of days like Kisan Diwas plays a much more significant role. We hope that Kisan Diwas 2019 brings with it an abundance of knowledge and fills the lives of all the farmers with the prosperity and growth they deserve!

Farmers are the strength of the country. He was principally a farmer and his individual way of life was exceptionally plain. He was a lad of the soil and has done various deeds to enhance the scenario of Indian agriculture. His short continuance at the pinnacle has showcased a swing of agricultural reforms and policies introduced in India. Charan Singh’s farmer background assisted him comprehend actual constraints of the farmer and he contributed a lot to support them.
